Definition:
UCCnet is a subsidiary of GS1 US (formerly known as UCC) and was formed in 1999 to address the concern from retailers and suppliers regarding inaccurate data in the supply chain. UCCnet represented the U.S. as a standards body in the global network of participants. Since 1999, UCCnet has expanded its purview to include data pool services. Data pools assist member participants in providing up-to-date, clean data to the GS1 Global Registry, thereby exchanging accurate data with trading partners. Other data pool providers include companies such as Transora, the WorldWide Retail Exchange, GXS, ICC.NET and others.

Membership fees for UCCnet are determined by a company’s annual gross sales.
