Chief Industry Analyst – Retail – The NPD Group, Inc.Since joining NPD in 1999, Cohen has held a variety of positions analyzing and interpreting NPD’s uniquely combined consumer and point-of-sale tracking services for the apparel, footwear, accessories, and sports industries. His career began in the training program at Bloomingdale’s, where he worked his way up to merchandise manager.  From there, he became president of WilliWear and subsequently president of Stanley Blacker. He was also founder, owner and president of Motive Marketing Group.

Executive Director, Industry Analyst – Home – The NPD Group, Inc.Previously, Derochowski worked closely with manufacturers, retailers and operators in the food and beverage industry, offering a creative approach that encouraged clients to reevaluate their go-to-market processes and think about their business differently. He is frequently quoted in leading periodicals and daily newspapers about how people eat, drink and experiment with meal preparation, and their health and wellness thoughts and actions.Derochowski has an undergraduate degree from GMI Engineering & Management Institute and an MBA from Michigan State University. Prior to joining The NPD Group, he worked for General Motors Parts, AT&T, Procter & Gamble and Nielsen.
