IHA Announces Proposal Process for the Inspired Home Show Education Sessions

Innovation Theater, Smart Talks Stage, Inventors Revue Topic Proposals Invited

ROSEMONT, IL (Aug. 15, 2019)—The International Housewares Association (IHA) today introduced an online process for submitting topics for educational sessions at The Inspired Home Show, IHA’s Global Home + Housewares Market in 2020. Retailers, trend forecasters and marketers, intellectual property attorneys and designers, along with experts in branding, packaging, smart home and AI issues are invited to submit proposals for presentations in the Innovation TheaterSmart Talks Stage and Inventors Revue at the 2020 Show. Deadline for submissions is Sept. 16.

The Inspired Home Show, formerly known as the International Home + Housewares Show, will be held March 14-17 at Chicago’s McCormick Place Complex. Along with the more than 2,200 exhibitors, the Show features world-class education on the latest industry topics and issues to help attendees grow their business. Speakers for the Innovation Theater, Smart Talks Stage and Inventors Revue come from within and outside of the housewares industry.

Innovation Theater presentations address topics on new product development and launch including trends in consumer behavior and purchasing; design of products, packaging and retail environments; social media management; branding; intellectual property protection; targeting international and emerging markets; trends in Internet of Things/Connected/Smart Home products. The 50-minute sessions occur every hour over the four Show days.

Smart Talks is a series of short conversations meant to introduce people and ideas in the connected products category, which is of growing importance in the housewares industry. Sessions are more of a “fireside chat” conversation format and take place every 25 minutes during the Show on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Speakers can address any aspect of IoT including artificial intelligence (AI); security; consumer research findings; user experience design; food and cooking; health-related systems and products; retail applications; B2C consumer engagement; and B2B supply chain management.

The Inventors Revue features topics of interest to makers and inventors, including developing that great idea; how to bring your product to market/marketing distribution; patent and trademark education; fulfillment housing; the importance of packaging your product; presenting to retailers; thinking outside the box; marketing through social media; branding; product development; and trends and color. Sessions are scheduled throughout the Show’s four days.

Further information and details on submitting a request for presentation for all three education areas is available at TheInspiredHomeShow.com/showpresentations. Further information on the Show and registering for a Show badge is available at TheInspiredHomeShow.com.
