Jonathan Gold of the National Retail Federation (NRF) will provide an update on the latest tariff actions occurring in Washington DC and insight from a retailer prospective, based on feedback from member companies. The NRF is the world’s largest retail trade association, representing discount and department stores, home goods and specialty stores, Main Street merchants, grocers, wholesalers, chain restaurants and internet retailers from the United States and more than 45 countries.
The session will focus on the impact that the proposed tariffs will have on retailers and manufacturers and describe the steps that each organization can take to make their voice heard. Recently proposed tariffs have been considered on over $250 billion in goods imported from China with a widespread impact to the home and housewares industry.
